Washington

Liquid Sunshine

Bentley & I love to explore and Washington did not disappoint. Over four days, we explored Seattle & Tacoma - eating their food, drinking their coffee, spending time with friends, and exploring their cities.

Our trip began in Tacoma with coffee & site seeing. We immediately drove into Point Defiance Park exploring the beauty Tacoma has to offer. Shortly after our walk through the park, we went to visit Pacific Lutheran University. What a beautiful campus! I love the brick buildings surrounded by tall trees. It's is own little world up there.

After our time in Tacoma, we made our way over to Seattle! The Pike Place Market did not disappoint. There's shops on shops and, on the weekend, so many people! I could not believe how many stores were underground & how big the entire space is. Once we finished, exploring the market we decided to use our City Pass & take advantage of our single day in Seattle.

The Seattle City Pass gives you eight options to see some of the main attractions in the city. While visiting, Bentley & I went to see the Space Needle & the Seattle Aquarium. The Space Needle was a sight to see! It always so fun to me to see cities from a bird's eye point of view. (To give you a heads up, the Space Needle was under construction during our visit. Renovations are expected to be completed soon.)

I have to say one of our favorite parts of the trip was exploring Elliot Bay. We went on an Argosy Harbor Tour which lasts about an hour but shows you all the fun waterfront spots that Seattle has to offer. My personal favorite was hearing the history of the city all while taking in its gorgeous skyline.

On one of our last activities, we dropped in on the Seattle Aquarium. I love aquariums. I always have ever since I spent the night at the Monterey Bay aquarium. The Seattle Aquarium did not disappoint! Some of my favorite moments was the touch pool. I always get nervous touching the sea animals! It amazes me how kids are so eager & fearless. During our trip we saw, jelly fish, a giant pacific octopus, harbor seals, sea otters, fur seals, and, my favorite, river otters.

After lots of fun, we returned home safe & sound with full hearts & bellies. We love visiting old friends in their new towns and visiting new places. We can't wait for our next adventure!

Italy

Ti penso sempre. I'm always thinking about you.

Italy was enchanting. Bentley & I loved every moment of our time there from figuring out transportation to exploring each beautiful town. We can't wait to return someday & explore more of the culture; the people, the food, the history.

We started our journey in Florence, making our way through history one cobblestone step at a time. We saw David in the Galleria Accademia before making our way over to the Ponte Vecchio and exploring the city streets at night. During the day, in the center of the main square, lies the beautiful Duomo di Firenze.

After our time in Florence, we moved onto the picturesque towns of Atrani & Amalfi. We spent two days, relaxing and exploring these small towns. Enjoying time with locals & walking along their beaches before the invasion of like-minded tourists & the summer season.

Around every corned you would be able to find these picturesque places with their bright doors & colorful buildings welcoming you in.

We finished our trip in Rome combing our way through the streets finding sites like the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Vatican & so much more. If you ever have the desire to feel small, visit the Eternal City. Their buildings are massive in size & some of the eldest every built. To know that people made these cities centuries ago & that they are still standing in mind boggling. Bentley & I kept thinking what in our generation will stand the age of time?

Among the many sites, Bentley & I found our favorite Italian restaurant, thus far, called Casa e Bottega on Via di Coronari. They're open for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Let's just say Bentley & I visited them for each of those meals & on our last night in Rome we received a special thank you from their Chef which will always make me smile.

After lots of fun, we returned home safe & sound with full hearts & bellies. One day we hope to return to finish our Italian adventures in Milan, Venice, & Lake Como but until then, Ciao Italia!
